Crooked Lane
There’s a road I walked for many years. Where I was born and learned my fears
I walked the fields and swam the streams, never realized how much I dreamed on crooked Lane
As time finds away to pass us by, and I think of all the reasons why
It will never be the same, all the memories I left right here on Crooked Lane
Clouds never stopped me from walking in the rain. I guess I never paid no attention,
Just a fool with his head in the air. Never showing any shame. On Crooked Lane.
I think about that place from time to time, I still stroll there in my mind
Most of it dirt some of it paved, I remember those endless days on Crooked Lane
Most of the time I feel sorry for me, other times I feel fine
What I need is what everyone’s searchin for To find sometime in life to get back home.
Many years since I walked that road, it’s still there so I’m told
It hides behind the tree’s and fields of hay, to find its paths you must know the way to Crooked Lane
